Not only is the Epistle to the Romans considered “the single most important piece of literature in the history of the world” (crossway.org), the critical approach taken in Romans: A Call to Belong makes the convincing proposition that the epistle may also be one of the most misunderstood, misinterpreted, mistaught and mis-preached pieces of literature in the New Testament canon, as even the Apostle Peter made note of:

In the opening of the epistle, Paul states that he was “called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel — the gospel God promised through His Prophets in the Hebrew Scriptures regarding His Son, Jesus.” Paul says that he received his apostleship to call all Gentiles to obedience, the obedience that comes from faith — Gentiles who are called to belong to the Jewish Messiah, Jesus.
